PAST THE 1/4 WAY MARK – 1500/5471 x 100 = 27% DONE!

The featured image above was taken by Subsonic (Danny Pavan) as Willy and he left Madura just before sunrise this morning.

What a powerful image. Inspiring to say the least. Thanks Danny!

It was great to see NO DOT MOVEMENT from either of them early this morning until, at a guess, after at least 6 hours sleep?

After a very bad run early on missing out on accommodation by a whisker and hence adding to sleep deprivation/stress this was so needed.

HIGHLIGHTS TODAY…

Excited to see Willy pass the 1/4 way mark.

Across Australia – 1/4 of the way. On a bike. In six (6) days.

Willy – you’ve made it already I say.

RANDOM TEXTS WITH CLUES TO RIVAL CLUEDO

Getting random texts with no follow up during this crazy adventure.

Examples of note…

  • “Feeling much better. Bum sore”
  • “I can’t cut bacon my right hand”
  • “It’s 30 minutes to beach. Need four wheel drive to go there. Incredible hey. Just talking to local”

And when an excited reply is sent hoping the conversation will continue – sweet nuffin.

Not a word back. You’d swear he was riding across the entire expanse of AUSSSSTRALLLLIA or someping.

OK time for some amazing piccies below.

Frankly all I see?

The.same.white.line.

And funnily enough “white line fever” is a thing in the adventure cycling world…

SO MANY BIG, RARE, STRAY ANIMALS IN ORSTRAYYA

As the Nullarbor gets closer, the number of signs warning you about stray animals become more frequent.

Hitting a roo or a camel, even at 15km an hour would not be pretty.

While pedalling toward Border Village today, Willy had to have a second take at this sign below.

Too many mushrooms at breakfast maybe.

Day 6 - Stray Animal Signs Just Past Madura

AND IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH TO MESS WITH HIS HEAD, SUDDENLY….

Mascot Matilda from the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games.

Willy took a while to work out how she got all the way out here…but then remembered the stray animals sign.

After sweating out at least a kilo of salt today, the vegemite looked very appetising.

A BORDER CROSSING…WITHOUT A COVID BORDER PASS. WHOOOOO

Willy was meant to have done the IndyPac last year but with all the uncertainties of border closures he pulled the pin last minute.

What a thrill to see this photo today.

DAY SIX CONTINUES INTO THE NIGHT…GUESSING A PUSH ON TO NULLARBOR ROADHOUSE?

Watching the dot, the expectation was for another stay overnight at Border Village.

But nope.

Off he goes with Subsonic. Last photo sent below toward the Nullarbor I’m guessing.

What an image.

Again, what an inspiration. Go Willy!

Leave moderator to look after the dogs for not even a week and they end up escaping to the other bloody side of the country, and after all those lectures keeping the gate closed!

On ya Todd keep pushing deep
