The adventure begins – Willy Maykit is on his way

A couple of things to take note of when watching the dots…

There could be satellite delays. Todd is using a Spot Gen 3 Satellite tracker. You can click on the “Willy Maykit” marker and it will give you details of average speed and the last satellite signal e.g 20 mins ago. For instance, Todd’s dot was showing he was way behind the pack (gulp – flat tyre?) as the latest reading was 26 minutes ago – now he’s firing along in second place – go Toddy!  The updates should be coming through quicker than this but could be due to overcast weather or his tracker isn’t facing up properly. Some rider dots are updating quicker than others depending on their devices.

On the “MAProgress” map – don’t forget you can click on the menu icons (in red) to view the full rider list, average speed overall for all riders etc. if you’re interested in that stuff.

Remember too – there is a “Predicted” mode you can turn OFF if you want. This predicts their placings overall per destination. First official destination is York – 126km away.

We are grateful to volunteers at the start line who have taken this video of the start of the IndyPac 2022. It was so exciting to watch this. We also pay our deep respect to Mike Hall. #BeMoreMike.

All the amazing riders are on their way. What a journey they have. Good luck to all riders! To even contemplate a ride like this shows your amazing strength of character. Stay safe. Pedal hard.
