Sunrise. Sunset. Peace, brother.
Confusion. Pain. Regrets?
Not sure about Willy, but I definitely had my own high-level pain today.
Choosing cushions. Gawwwwd.
Tassles. No tassels. Satin trim. Pattern. Colour. How many. Karate chop plumping.
I have a new respect for Shaynna.
Lucky for legend Ben at Cotton Living.
He made the choice wayyyyy less painful.
Yep. Love those. Noice. Different. Done. No regrets.
Thanks Ben! I’ll be back next weekend for another wander through to choose the next stash of homeys.
They will be a little surprise for Willy on his return.
OK back to the race.
He had 4G connection at the Mine camp.
I was gifted with the funny photo below around 7.30pm and a quick conversation explaining it.
What the safety boot and hat HEY???
After soul-searching for the last 1700km I think ole Willy’s got himself a little career change.
Or maybe he had to work a mine shift for his dinner.
Jeez.
Made himself riiiiiiight at home, didn’t he?
I wonder where the poor worker is?
Guessing in his hangry state he rocketed in there like a post-hibernation bear and all living beings skiddadled out to the depths of the Tanami desert until the threat to their life i.e a hungry Willy bear, was gone.
ATTN: Betty – Gteed you’ll be scrolling in like a detective possessed so do note the Pest Control box.
Hilarious.
He was so hungry for real ‘not another f*cking muesli bar’ food I wouldn’t be surprised if he ate whatever was trapped in there.
But loooook at that fooooood.
A massive thanks to Tracey. Could be Julie. Can’t remember. I think Tracey.
It was like riding into a Sizzler buffet minus the cheese toast.
No 4G has meant minimal imagery over the last 48 hours but got some stunning shots through when he arrived at the mine camp last night.
Guessing a mix of Day 8 and Day 9. From Billiluna on.
Red sandy dirt roads.
Difficult and divine all at once.
The temperature is dropping and he says “thanks for making me take a beanie”.
From one extreme to the next.
He’ll be hitting 0 degrees at night probably from now.
He’s a few KM’s short of Yuendumu. A few hours yet at a guess.
Shops closed.
But I do hope his heart is open to recognise this race as an amazing opportunity to see and experience country like never before.
Not in a 4WD. But on a pushy. A free activity.
Like many in the world would dream to be doing right now.
Privileged, indeed.
After the massive KMs he’s done, Uluru seems like it’s just around the corner.
Keep strong Willy! Almost there.
EDIT: 4:15PM. Betty Makesit sent the Moderatorr this image below querying as to whether or not Todd stopped to do some topiary for me in the middle of the desert. Orrrrrr. Sweet! See. I told you she was a zoomer innerer.
