Day 9 - Ceduna to Wudinna - The Sun - IPWR

THE NIGHT SKIES ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT THERE IS NOTHING MORE SETTLING THAN SEEING THE SUN RISE.

2190KMs IN 10 DAYS. WHOO! ENDING THE DAY IN LUXURY AT WUDINNA…

Well. It depends on how you define luxury.

But after pretty ordinary accommodation in Ceduna last night and yet another “way before sparrow’s f*rt” start, Wuddina Motel and Caravan Park looks like the golden goods.

Excellent Google reviews at least – considering it is in a SIMON (Ask sister Betty Mayksit what that acronomyn stands for).

Not too much communique today and guessing it’s due to the Beetlejuice/Cave Man peleton just moments away.

Frankly, I hope I wake tomorrow to see Toddles and Danny riding alongside these fellows.

They sound like top blokes.

From what I can glean from the FB page the next bit to Adelaide and beyond is hard-er.

I know. Harder than crossing the Nullarbor?

Apparently so.

So it’d be good to have a little comradery along the way I say.

SLEEPING ROUGH THREE HOURS INTO TODAY’S RIDE

When that dot stops, this dot watcher starts to worry.

Just three hours into the ride and because of a crap sleep/early start it just becomes too dangerous to continue to ride on these highway roads.

So another two hour kip was needed today apparently.

Got this photo showing the chosen spot at which Danny and he lay down for a bit before getting on with today’s ride.

Rest. So important!

WINNING!  THIS LITTLE PLACE WAS OPEN TODAY WHEN IT WAS THOUGHT TO BE SHUT.

Got two images of fruit and their mid morning pit stop with big smiley faces today and just the word “Fruit!”.

Guessing the diet has been a little to be desired and the thought of a piece of fruit excited even this weary rider.

Do note the packet of snakes and chippies.

I bet in his delirium he thought that sign said “Warilla”.

Cool! Time for a cuppa with Auntie Vanessa!

A BEAUTIFUL BLUE SKIES DAY.

Guessing the riding is still hard but at least the skies are gorgeous.

NEWS JUST IN! SADDLE SORES LOOKIN’ A LITTLE DODGY

I won’t tell you the type of photograph I just received and the angle in which it was taken – but lordy lord.

I’ve just been schooled in bike rider anatomy.

And this is definitely a dot I do not want to watch.

This is always going to be a worry for all riders.

Double-nicks today and fingers double-crossed they won’t get nasty.

Just hurry up and get to Adelaide and get some good ole barrier cream.

YAY! SMART CHOICE TONIGHT

Great to hear Willy’s made it to some nice digs tonight after some horrendous-sounding sleep-depriving nights either roughing it or in terrible accommodation.

As I type this I am guessing he’s already in lala land and will stay there for as long as he has to.

Big days coming up. More pain. Daunting.

But at least the scary Nullarbor stretch is almost over and out.

Sleep well. You’ve still got this. And you’ve still got us.

Go Willy!

Ano amazing day, mate, and you’ve put the Nullarbor behind you already. Fantastic work and absolutely inspiring! Keep spinning and keep rolling. You’ve got this!!!

Hey Willy wish we could donate a new donut to u or at least a donut cushion to ride on. I have heard in some Scandinavian countries they ride pantless in the standing position to air that delicate region. Worth a try when it gets dark! Or not. You’ve done so well, Nullarbor ✔ love Betty.
