PRESS PLAY TO HEAR RELAXING BIRD CALLS…
Will probs be off to the confessional box tomorrow.
Hoping the JC reference is not offensive to any subscribers I do not know or anyone who may stumble across this blog. Eeee. Refer to Day 2 blog for reference and vote for my entrance to heaven when I’m in purgatory.
But that bird every morning.
It’s like gospel now.
Aside.
What’s happs today?
Being devoid of all communication means there ain’t much to report.
I did receive a text early morning with a photo (below) saying “Yummy”.
The desert clearly does strange things to your taste buds.
Right now Willy’s excruciatingly close to Halls Creek.
I bet he can taste the pub food 100km away.
Alas, unless he rides at 60km per hour, he is not going to make it in time.
Based on present ride stats I’m guesstimating a midnight arrival.
Pain. Including the hunger one.
There will be no shops open.
No food. Water. Supplies. Stuck until morning even if you’re good to goooooo.
No matter how hard you ride in these races, if you don’t make it before shop closing and you’re desperate for food, you’re instantly disadvantaged.
You lose time. Big time.
So I watch the dot with angst.
PLEASE make it in time.
But it’s statistically impossible.
The ride data doesn’t lie.
But I tell you what.
What an incredible effort today.
And I can still see he’s putting in a nutso gutsy push to get to Halls Creek for food.
Winding up the km/hr rate despite assumed delirium and total, total, total body hurt.
Come on Willy.
You may have missed the shops tonight but they’ll open tomorrow early.
So enjoy this time to rest…in a bivvy. on the dirt. no shower. or food. Eeeee.
Recharge that Energiser bunny core or yours.
You’ll be bright as a button walking around Halls Creek IGA like you own the joint.
Hope they’ve stocked up to accommodate your appetite.
Keep peddaling, Willy!
The bird ‘song’!!! 🙂
Amazing, amazing, AMAZING effort from Willy!!!
That bird !???? amazing riding – goooo Todd
