FALLEN INTO THE DRINK. A FEW TOO MANY SHERBERTS AT THE CASINO I’D SAY.
Before discussing the shock of the dot in the drink, I need to digress and thank the amazing dot angels in Melbourne who greeted Willy late last night (Day 16) into Melbourne.
After a day of peddling away having you as a guiding light was a welcome site for sore-eyed Willy.
Dave and Lee you are both ‘legends’ according to the text received in the early hours of this morning.
This dot-watcher generosity is nothing short of astounding.
Willy appeared safe and sound in ole Melbourne town with these two legends.
So I drifted to sleep.
Waking at some point to double check the dot.
And there it was – in the Yarra.
Not moving. Eeeeee.
Quickly checking texts to see if any more communique.
Too many brewskis?
Rolled into the Yarra?
But no all good.
Bleary eyed, I could see an image of a McMaykit Meal in a spa.
Bet that spa bath felt nice.
You deserve it Mr Maykit.
THE DAY STARTS WITH MORE DOT WATCHER KINDNESS FROM DAN AND MUM DENISE – FREE ORCHARD APPLES!
How good is that.
Apples picked from a tree and handed straight to you.
Willy probs has scurvy based on the picture of his lunch today. See below.
So how nice must it have been to munch into a “fresh from the tree” piece of fruit.
Thanks to dot-watchers and orchard owners Dan and mum Denise just before Yarra Junction.
I so want a bite.
LUNCH AT NOOJEE
The right hand is still having trouble holding and hence cutting anything – 4100km of constant pressure from the handlebars – so guessing that’s the reason for the state of these pies.
Freezing there at the moment too.
Love the little mushroom decoration on the top.
A great midday belly warmer.
I so want a bite.
MASSIVE MILESTONE TODAY – PAST THE 4000KM MARK.
Gee Willy.
I gotta say.
Pretty impressed.
And watching your dot power it home tonight through the dark to get to Heyfield.
You’re digging deep to just make it home now.
I guess that’s 250km for the day including a few lil big hills?
Congratulations.
Offically ONLY 1331 KMs to goooooo.
Final pics as a sign off tonight from the generous FB Dot Watcher Gavin Parker.
Awesome images.
Edits later tonight if I’m up and if I hear from Mr Maykit.
EDIT: 10:32PM – MORE PICCIES COMING INTO HEYWORTH. WHOO.
Thanks to lovely dot watcher in Heyfield – Jenny Lawrence – FB.
You are an absolute machine xx
So damn strong and determined today, Todd! Over 4,000 kms now, some big climbs, and another long, committed day in the saddle. I won’t use the word that Mario used to describe your determination ? but I couldn’t agree more!! Keep rolling, mate, you’re bloody awesome!
