ANOTHER START IN THE DARK…
Day 13 begins.
And into the dark he goes alone.
It was a ploy to beat the predicted head winds today.
Sadly for ole Willy, those headwinds beat him to a pulp instead.
10 long hard hours for a measly 197km. (His words not mine).
100km less than he hoped.
Despondent to say the least.
Every single KM grinding the peddles against massive winds that were on a mission to push his little dot back to Adelaide.
It’s almost unfair and very cruel, and I’d like to speak to the manager about it please.
The video below shows him rolling into Kingston like a boulder up hill.
Brutal again. Bad luck. At Nature’s mercy.
That’s the IPWR for you.
It’s funny though.
Something good inside always happens when the sun rises to say a fiery, warm hello.
A little comfort to soothe the bum, knees, burnt lip and despondancy that has a habit of taking over in the early morning darkness.
Take a look at that sunrise…
197KMS OF “WINDY AS F*CK.”
A TASTY TREAT TO PUSH HIM PAST THE 3000KM MILESTONE. WHOOO!
Willy grabbed some goodies just on sunrise at the “Happy Daise Coffee Shop”.
The name in itself a positive early morning message to usher in a great milestone today – hitting the 3000km mark.
Exceptional.
AFTER KINGSTON? OH JUST MORE WHITE LINES…
Mr Maykit has good things to say about Kingston.
Cute little oceanfront place apparently.
And Karen’s lovely hello on arrival was much welcomed.
So another day ends in this crazy journey.
But not before the now standard obligatory end of night questions…
How’s your bum? Knees holding up? Regular bowel movements?
Time to let the crazy, mad IPWR bastard sleep.
He’ll leave after a decent rest, hopefully early again, before more headwinds tomorrow.
Keep pedalling Willy Maykit.
Some lovely piccies below….
Very inspirational Todd. Love your work
KEEP GOING TODDYYYY
If it was easy everybody would be doing it! Your pace is fantastic don’t get hung up on kms per day, just remember how far your are from the start…. love Betty Madeit.
A hell of a day by the sound of it but you pushed through and ground out the kms like the tough bastard you are! We are all in awe of your ride mate and are so very proud of you. Keep pushing Todd!
