Nothin’ to see here.
No communication other than the text at 1.30am saying he was at Mt Barnett with a little mechanical isssewww.
Guessing on the stop/start dot day today – suddenly dropping from 17km/hr to 0km/hr within the space of a couple of KMs – there’s something funky happening still.
Eeeeee.
OR hopefully he’s sorted that and it’s just the road conditions slowing him down.
Spying a little closer in to see the type of roads via Google Earth (and knowing there’s been recent rains) I’m guessing he may well be either riding on soft sand or thick red mud.
The joys of these crayyyyzey endurance rides.
Who knows what you’re going to get served.
He’s presently at the 470km mark and at a decent pace considering the type of track.
Oh Willy. Where for art thou doing out there!
Here’s one for you.
We have quite a few birds here.
And they chirp early morning and late afternoon quite incessantly. Even in the GC ‘burbs.
Willy likes to listen and interpret what they’re saying.
Yes, he’s very in touch with his ‘one with nature’ side.
One bird call in particular he likes to mimic he SWEARS is saying “Downtown Kicker”.
Whatevs, Todd.
And oh. Then there’s the one that chirps “Go the Broncos” in a high pitched ‘voice’.
I kid you not.
Todd doesn’t even go for the Broncos.
Silly birds.
When Willy lets me in on alllll these highly intuitive interpretations it seriously is a real thing.
I kid you not.
I suddenly wake to crazy bird calls back and forth and start hearing and translating them in my head.
God dang. He’s right.
Drives me NUTSSSSS.
And now get this.
Prior to the Race to the Rock departure, a new bird in the ‘burbs’ shows up.
I kid you not.
A new bird call that sounds like “J8sus Chr*st, Todddd”.
I swear.
Even with the paused bit represented above by a grammatically correct comma.
No joke.
I’ll tape the birdy sound before this blog is out and you can be the judge.
The bird universe was telling him something.
But he didn’t listen.
Ok so if I get any texts overnight with updates I’ll whack an edit up. Promise.
I’m off to meditate.
Image below: What dot watchers do to calm the nerves. Anyone need some flat packing assembly sorted?

We have no evidence that the seat pole has not been fixed – on purpose????????????
Oh well Moderatorrrrr – maybe it’s not meditation ???? you need but medication!
I hear that fermented grape extract is very good- for a short time at least. Pulse doses once or twice a week surely cannot be that harmful!!
He just doesn’t *stop*, even with seat-pole rambunctiousness!!!
I can just see him fixing/tinkering/problem solving and then moving ever-forwards…
Keep going, Willy!!!!
What will the birds be calling today?????
Keep going Bro awesome work,a river crossing u got it!! Stop off at El Questro and have a coldie and a chopper ride over the gorge (only if you’ve got time). Love Betty x
